Let's face it, looking and sorting through all the high chairs available can be a bit overwhelming. Two things that you want to consider before making a decision is safety and life span. Most units come standard with straps to secure the baby and a removable tray. Some come with cushions while others are solid wood.

No matter how fashionable or comfortable a high chair is, the first thing a baby wants to do is get out! If you've never had the joy of seeing a baby try to stand up, or slip under the tray to escape you're missing out on an electric experience. Many parents tend to buy high chairs lined with toys in hopes to keep the little one entertained when mom is busy. The truth of the matter is most babies lose interest within a short time.

The best high chair is the one that allows your baby to be part of the family and allows them to use the table just like you. A tired and frustrated baby away from the table will often throw their food on the ground to gain attention. The closer a baby is to their parents the better behaved they will be. They will be happier and learn how to act at the dinner table at the same time.

Remember that children grow out of high chairs as young as 1 and as old as 4. Make sure when you decide to buy a high chair you don't buy the smallest one. Most come standard to last until the child is 3 years old by using different adjustments. It doesn’t make sense to buy a high chair for your child that only lasts a short time and has to be by a booster seat that is uncomfortable for them.
